I have no idea.... my guess would be the location of the thermocouple. I have been wanting to design a board that controls the system as a replacement for their setup... but life has been complicated. It is certainly an annoying situation no doubt.

I have this, and have been playing with it on my first day. All seems to be working except that it stalls 4 degrees below the preheat temp and fails to reach the holding temps (just hangs up). I see that that the thermocouple is compensated and that there isn't an adjustment. I am thinking either the tubes are under powered or a thermocouple is in a bad position? Any ideas?
